Terms & Conditions
The following Client Confirmation Terms apply to all Bookings made with Hotel Connexions. Please read these Client Confirmation Terms carefully before making a Booking. By making a Booking you accept the terms of these Client Confirmation Terms in full.
1.1 In these Client Confirmation Terms, unless otherwise stated, the following terms have the following meanings:
- "Terms" means these Client Confirmation Terms; "Website" means the website of Hotel Connexions at www.hotelconnexions.com; and
- "Service Provider" means a third party provider of services or Activities which have been booked under a Booking;
- "Hotel" means the premises for which your Booking is made;
"Deposit" means the non-refundable deposit of between 15% and 20% of the total sum payable in relation to the Booking, payable as detailed in Clause 5.1;
- "Activities" means activities to be provided at the Hotel or elsewhere by the Hotel or a third party and booked under a Booking;
- "Booking" your booking(s) for rooms, packages or Activities at Hotels promoted by Hotel Connexions on these Client Confirmation Terms;
- "Gift Certificate" means a non-refundable gift certificate for Hotel Connexions which can be used to pay for Bookings;
- "Hotel Connexions" means Hotel Connexions Limited, a company incorporated in Scotland under Company Number SC139591 having its registered office at 292 St Vincent Street, Glasgow, G2 5TQ;
- "Signature Club" means the club with subscription based membership which offers exclusive deals and discounts to its subscribers;
"you" means the person, firm or company seeking to make a Booking with Hotel Connexions.
2.0 Hotel Connexions acting as Agent
2.1 Hotel Connexions acts as a disclosed agent for Hotels. The contract in relation to the provision of accommodation and Activities at Hotels is therefore between you and the Hotel supplying your accommodation and/or Activities. In acting as an agent, Hotel Connexions has no contractual liability to you in respect of the facilities, accommodation and Activities provided to you.
2.2 The advertisement of all accommodation and Activities by Hotel Connexions is not an offer by Hotel Connexions to sell such accommodation and/or Activities, but an invitation to you to make an offer to the Hotel to book such accommodation and/or Activities. Hotel Connexions is free, as the agent of the Hotel, to accept that offer on behalf of Hotels or to reject it.
3.0 General Terms – Bookings
3.1 The offers and rates on the Website or in the Hotel Connexions brochure are valid only when taken by two adults sharing a standard twin or double room on a Room Only, Bed & Breakfast or Dinner Bed & Breakfast (as stated by RO, BB or DBB) basis at the individual rate quoted per person per night. Room supplements will be charged for non-standard rooms and for single occupancy. Incidentals such as drinks and telephone calls are not included in the offers and rates on the Website or in the Hotel Connexions brochure, are your responsibility and must be paid to the Hotel directly by you.
3.2 The Booking constitutes an offer by you to purchase the accommodation and/or Activities in accordance with these Terms. The Booking will only be accepted when Hotel Connexions issues written acceptance of the Booking which may be made by e-mail or by post. The Booking constitutes the entire agreement between you and Hotel Connexions (on behalf of the Hotel). By making a Booking you acknowledge that you have not relied on any statement, promise or representation made or given by or on behalf of Hotel Connexions which is not clearly set out in the Booking. Any descriptive matter or advertising issued by Hotel Connexions and any descriptions or illustrations contained in the Hotel Connexions brochure or on the Website, are issued or published for the sole purpose of giving an approximate idea of the accommodation or Activities described. They do not form part of the Booking or have any contractual force.
3.3 All reservations are subject to availability at the Hotel.
3.4 Offers cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. Bookings as advertised on the Website or in the Hotel Connexions brochure cannot be made directly with the Hotel.
3.5 Hotel Connexions reserves the right (on behalf of the Hotel) to refuse any Booking without reason and without liability.
3.6 Any Hotel room photographs are only a depiction of the types of rooms on offer and may not represent the actual room described.
3.7 "Star ratings" are outwith the control of Hotel Connexions, and Hotel Connexions cannot therefore be held responsible for any misconceptions relating to such ratings.
4.1 All rates as advertised on our Website or in our brochure or as stated in your Booking are quoted in Sterling with the exception of Hotels outwith the United Kingdom, which are quoted in Euro, local currency or Sterling equivalent. The Sterling equivalent is correct at time of publication, however may vary due to currency fluctuations. The amount shown as due to the Hotel on your confirmation of Booking will also be shown in the currency selected. This amount may vary due to currency fluctuations. Hotel Connexions will not be liable for any sum that you have to pay as a result of currency fluctuations.
4.2 Prices stated include Value Added Tax ("VAT") at the current applicable rate unless otherwise stated. Where prices are stated as exclusive of VAT any VAT payable will be payable by you.
4.3 All prices exclude any meals, facilities, service or Activity unless otherwise stated.
4.4 A minimum length of stay and other conditions may apply to certain rates, as specified in your Booking.
5.0 Payment of Bookings
5.1 A minimum non-refundable Deposit of a sum between 15%-20% of the total sum due is payable in all circumstances. The exact sum of the Deposit will depend upon the type of Booking being made and will be confirmed at the time of Booking. In some circumstances the full amount payable in respect of a Booking may be due at the time of Booking. The remainder of the cost of your Booking (plus any extras) is required to be paid to the Hotel direct in accordance with the Hotel’s terms and conditions. If you have fully prepaid your Booking in advance you need only pay any extras to the Hotel. Hotel Connexions will pass payment to the Hotel on your behalf. Your attention is drawn to Clause 6 below in relation to cancellations.
5.2 In Hotels where a table d’hôte menu is not available an allowance may be given against an alternative menu for bookings made on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast basis.
5.3 Subject to the further terms of this Clause 5.3 payment for Bookings can be made by credit or debit card, cheque (made payable to Hotel Connexions Limited), cash and Gift Certificates. Cheques cannot be used for payment within fourteen (14) days of arrival and cash cannot be used within twenty four (24) hours of arrival. Please note that cheques and cash are not valid for Bookings made via the Website.
5.4 A booking fee of £3.00 will also apply, which is non-refundable.
5.5 By making your Booking you are authorising Hotel Connexions to use your debit or credit card (as provided) for any additional payments due by you to Hotel Connexions or the Hotel under these Terms.
6.0 Cancelling and Amending Bookings
6.1 Please check the terms of your Booking carefully in relation to cancellations. If you have to cancel or amend your Booking, this should be done through Hotel Connexions (+44 (0)141 - 212 50 53, OPTION 2 (Mon-Fri 9am -5.30pm)) and NOT through the Hotel. Hotel Connexions will retain the Deposit on a cancelled Booking. In the case of cancellation of a fully prepaid non refundable Booking (as specified in the Booking) no refund will be given and Hotel Connexions will not be liable for any sums paid by you (including sums paid in relation to Activities) in relation to the Booking. You should check the Booking confirmation for the refund position in relation to your Booking.
6.2 Other than non-refundable Bookings should you cancel (1) the day before or on the day of travel; or (2) in the event of non-arrival at the Hotel, you will be charged for the first night’s accommodation. The credit or debit card used for payment of the Deposit or to guarantee the Booking will be debited for the cost of the first night of the Booking.
6.3 All Gift Certificates bought or Signature Club memberships are non-refundable.
6.4 No refunds can be given for meals or accommodation booked but not used by you.
6.5 In the event of a refund being due, this will be credited to the card used to make the original payment. If payment was made by cheque or cash any refund due will be paid by cheque. If the payment was made by Gift Certificate this will be refunded by Gift Certificate (and will not be refunded in any other manner).
6.6 An administration charge of £15.00 will be charged for any amendments to your Booking sought by you. Any cancellation or amendment charges (as detailed in this Clause 6) due to Hotel Connexions will automatically be debited to the credit or debit card used to pay the Deposit due at the time of Booking or to guarantee the Booking.
6.7 Hotel Connexions will remit the sums due to you (less any Deposit and cancellation fee, if applicable) within twenty eight (28) days of the due date of the date of Booking subject to you having previously paid for the Booking in full.
7.0 Cancelling & Amending Activities
7.1 The Hotel or the Service Provider may impose a further cancellation fee in respect of Activities in addition to any such fee imposed by Hotel Connexions. The Activities may not necessarily be provided at or by the Hotel. In the event of you wishing to amend your Booking in respect of the Activities, any amendment will be subject to an amendment fee of £15.00 payable to Hotel Connexions (the Amendment Fee) and may (notwithstanding payment of the Amendment Fee) be subject to the cancellation charges payable to Hotel Connexions and/or the Hotel, or Service Provider pursuant to the Hotel's or Service Provider's terms and conditions.
7.2 In the event of cancellation fees being payable, such fees will be withheld by Hotel Connexions from the sum reimbursed to you.Hotel Connexions will remit the sums due to you (less any Deposit and the cancellation fee, if applicable) within twenty eight (28) days of the due date of the occurrence of the Activity subject to you having previously paid for the Activity in full.
Hotel Connexions feel it is very important that you are adequately protected against unforeseen eventualities, both prior to and during your holiday and therefore strongly recommends that you take out appropriate and adequate insurance to cover you and any persons travelling with you prior to making your Booking. Hotel Connexions will not be liable to you or any other party where you have failed to take out appropriate and adequate insurance.
Subject to the individual policy of each Hotel (which should be checked by you prior to making your Booking), children aged 14 and under, (maximum of two) may be free for accommodation only, if sharing with two adults in a standard room, paying only for meals as taken. Some Hotels may not be able to accommodate children or may only accommodate one child. If this is the case this information will be available from the Hotel and you should confirm this with the Hotel prior to making your Booking. In the event of an extra bed being required charges may be applied. Due to limited availability, standard family rooms often involve the use of sofa beds or extra beds placed in a standard double/twin room to accommodate two adults and a maximum of two children. Larger or upgraded family accommodation is subject to availability and provision varies among Hotels and will be subject to supplementary charges which will be displayed at the time of Booking.
10.0 Babysitting/Listening Facilities
It is advisable that Hotels which offer baby-sitting or listening services should be booked with the Hotel prior to arrival. You should liaise with the Hotel direct in relation to any requirements for babysitting or listening facilities.
11.0 Car Parking
Please contact the Hotel direct in advance for availability of car parking spaces and any applicable charges which you must pay to the Hotel direct.
12.0 Beauty/Spa Therapies & Activities
12.1 Activities must be booked with the Hotel directly after your Booking has been confirmed. It is recommended that you book these times in advance of your stay dates and as early as possible to avoid disappointment as they are subject to availability. Most golf courses do not have any restrictions however some courses require a handicap certificate or letter of introduction, and may also have restricted dates and times for play.
12.2 From time to time the Hotel or the third party providing the Activity may have to cancel an Activity for reasons beyond our control, e.g. the weather. Hotel Connexions will use its best endeavours to notify you as soon as it is made aware of any such cancellation and to offer you an alternative date or time if possible. We regret that in such circumstances Hotel Connexions cannot offer a refund on pre-paid accommodation, travel or any other expenses. While Hotel Connexions takes every care in choosing its suppliers, inclusion of an Activity in the Hotel Connexions brochure or on the Website does not mean that Hotel Connexions guarantees the safety standards or satisfactory performance of any of the third parties involved in the provision of the Activities.
Please contact the Hotel direct in advance to pre-book a table for any meals that you require.
Not all of the Hotels or areas within the Hotels offer access suitable for persons with special needs. Please confirm before making a Booking if you have any special requirements in relation to accessibility or otherwise so that Hotel Connexions can assist you in ensuring that suitable accommodation is booked for you. If you have special needs Hotel Connexions will use best endeavors to ensure your Booking is appropriate for your needs but it cannot guarantee the suitability of a Hotel or Activity and will not be liable to you in the event that a Hotel (or any part of it) or an Activity is unsuitable for you.
15.0 Limitation on Liability of Hotel Connexions
15.1 Hotel Connexions acts as an agent for the Hotel(s) and therefore will not be liable for any direct or indirect injury, loss or damage sustained or incurred by you resulting from any act or omission of the Hotel or any employee, worker or agent acting for the Hotel or for any accommodation, services or Activities provided by a Hotel or by a third party.
15.2 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limited the liability of Hotel Connexions for: (i) death or personal injury caused by Hotel Connexion’s negligence; (ii) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (iii) for any matter which it would be illegal for Hotel Connexions to exclude or attempt to exclude its liability.
Hotel Connexions will only deal with complaints directly relating to the bookings process. Such complaints should be made to Hotel Connexions Ltd, Customer Services Desk, 280 St Vincent Street, Glasgow, G25RL. Hotel Connexions will not deal with any complaints relating to the Hotels, the standard of accommodation or Activities and any such complaints must be made directly to the relevant Hotel or Service Provider.
International Terms and Conditions This International Hotel offers stated on this website are valid when taken by two adults sharing a standard twin or double room on a bed and breakfast basis unless otherwise stated at the individual rates quoted per person per night. (Single supplements are available on request and must be booked in conjunction with a twin or double room).
Bookings cannot be made directly with the hotel.
Incidentals such as drinks and telephone calls are not included and are the responsibility of the guest.
All reservations are subject to availability.
Not all rooms in each hotel are allocated to Hotel Connexions.
No refunds can be given for meals and bed nights not taken.
Additional taxes may apply at International Hotels booked.
Breakfast is either buffet style or continental.
Where possible, children, aged 12 and under, (maximum of two) are free for accommodation only, if sharing with two adults in a standard room, paying only for meals as taken, subject to availability. Although, some hotels may not be able to accommodate children or only one child. If this is the case, this information will be available in the hotel notes. Due to limited availability, standard family rooms often involve the use of sofa beds or extra beds placed in a standard double/twin room to accommodate two adults and a maximum of two children. Larger or upgraded family accommodation is subject to availability and provision varies among hotels. Such accommodation must be requested at the time of booking and will be subject to supplementary charges. If children are staying in a room of their own, each child will be charged the FULL adult rate for Bed & Breakfast and is subject to availability.
If you have to cancel or amend your booking, this must be done through Hotel Connexions on +44 (0)141 - 212 50 53 giving at least 48 hours notice and NOT with the hotel direct. Hotel Connexions will retain the 15% deposit on a cancelled booking and the hotel may will charge the cost of the first night¿s accommodation if the booking is not cancelled more than 3 days prior to arival. An administration charge of £15.00 will be charged for any amendments.
All prices are quoted in the local currency of the hotel with a sterling equivalent for your information, the Sterling may vary due to currency fluctuations
All Prices and information are correct at time of loading to the website and any inconsistency with any description contained herein is the sole responsibility of the hotels featured.

At Hotel Connexions, all online bookings are safe and secure, using the latest internet security technology to protect our customers. We encrypt your entire transaction including your credit card information to ensure your purchases with us are private and protected as they travel to us via the internet. We accept orders only from Web browsers that can use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology - this means you cannot inadvertently book a hotel through an unsecured connection. Most web browsers now support this. Your payment details are held in an encrypted format until we process your booking. We are fully PCI compliant through Credit Safe and in fact we do not even hold credit card details on site for additional security. What We Don't Do
We do not provide email addresses to any third party however from time to time we may send you details of offers from third parties which we pass onto you on their behalf, and which we believe are relevant to Hotel Connexions customers. In this instance, email and other personal details are not divulged to the third parties concerned. We do not share the information we track on this site nor do we release any personal details about you to anyone outside Hotel Connexions or our partner hotels with which you have made a reservation.
